Canupp4Judge – Episode 11

Video Transcript

Hello, this is Brian.

People often ask what judicial temperament really means for a Kentucky district judge. It’s not just a legal term—it’s how justice is delivered every single day.

A district judge may begin the morning with probate matters, then hear civil claims, move to the traffic docket, and handle misdemeanor cases, juvenile cases, or mental health actions.

Every person who appears in the courtroom deserves the same thing: to be treated with fairness, patience, and respect.

Judicial temperament means listening before deciding. It means remaining calm when emotions run high, treating every person with dignity, and applying the law impartially regardless of who they are or why they’re in court.

It means having the humility to know that every decision affects real people, real families, and our communities.

A good district judge is committed to the rule of law, guided by common sense, and dedicated to moving cases efficiently without sacrificing fairness.

Justice isn’t measured by how quickly a case ends. It’s measured by whether every person leaves knowing they were heard and that the law was applied fairly.

I hope to earn your trust by demonstrating these qualities every day.

I would be honored to earn your vote this November, and I will work hard every day to serve our communities with fairness, integrity, and respect.
