Canupp4Judge – Episode 15

Video Transcript

Hello, this is Brian.

I believe that a district court judge ought to be more than somebody who you only see sitting behind the bench down at the courthouse.

District court is the front door to Kentucky’s court system, and the folks who come through that front door are friends, neighbors, and people that we’ve known for most of our lives.

I believe that making fair, common-sense decisions starts with knowing the communities that I’ll be asked to serve.

So that means getting out and being a part of those communities. Going to ball games, taking pictures, attending plays, supporting school events, visiting local organizations, and talking to people around town at the grocery store.

But most importantly, it means listening.

A judge always has to be fair and impartial when he puts on that robe, but being impartial doesn’t mean you have to be out of touch.

I believe a good judge should understand the communities that he serves and bring that experience, along with a little common sense, into the courthouse every single day.

I’m Brian Canupp, and I hope to earn your trust and your vote this election.
